Thu (Donna) Trinh
Hello, this is Donna from Donnadoki Craft Room NYT, a small business that focuses on creating unique handmade products and accessories from recycled materials.
As a NYT-ambassador, I want to share my business journey and offer advice based on my own personal experiences. I want to show that anyone can become an entrepreneur, regardless of their background. I would like to talk about the journey from turning an idea into a real project: what to prepare, what challenges young entrepreneurs might face when starting and running a business, what tools they can use, and what skills they should develop before starting a business. I also want to share insights into the identity and responsibilities of an entrepreneur, as well as how to balance creative ideas with real-life circumstances.
I started my business from what I call “3 zeros”: zero background, zero language skills, and zero experience. From that starting point, I went on to win the title of “Most Responsible Company” in the Uusimaa region.
Starting a business can be challenging, especially when you have a exotic and unique idea that has rarely been seen before and has few, if any, existing success stories to follow. Through my story, I hope to inspire more young people to pursue their unique business ideas, boost their confidence, and support them as they take their very first steps on their entrepreneurial journey.
