Johanna Vesikallio has been appointed as the new CEO of Junior Achievement Finland. She will take up her position on 1 March 2025.
Johanna Vesikallio holds a Master’s degree in Political Science. She has also attended the Sanoma journalism school and completed a degree in EU affairs in France. Vesikallio will transfer to the JA Finland organisation from the position of Communications Director at the Ministry of Finance. Previously, she has worked as a Communications and Public Relations Manager at the Finnish Family Firms Association, a host of the discussion programme A-Studio at the Finnish public service media company Yle and a political editorial staff supervisor at the Finnish News Agency STT.
“JA Finland’s search for a new CEO aroused enormous interest. Johanna’s diverse expertise convinced the board of directors. I strongly believe that, under her leadership, JA Finland will achieve its goals and the organisation’s excellent activities for the benefit of children and young people will continue. JA Finland in a nutshell
JA Finland is a non-profit organisation that offers schools, educational institutions and municipalities services and learning modules that support working life, economic and entrepreneurial skills. The goal of the organisation is to ensure that every child and young person, regardless of their background, gets a chance to learn skills that are important for their future. JA Finland has Yrityskylä learning environments in 14 cities. JA Finland is also part of the international Junior Achievement network, which operates in more than 100 countries.
JA Finland was founded in June 2023 when two organisations – Junior Achievement Finland and Economy and youth TAT (Talous and Young Achievements Finland) – combined their operations.
